“Green Open Air Cinema” is a traditional event, organized by cultural association “7 arte” The idea to organize an open air cinema was connected with the need of Mitrovica’s citizens to use their public spaces, which were under control of military troops, since 1999 when KFOR troops arrived in Kosovo. The river side area, which was known as the most attractive public space of the city was not free for access, until 2008 when French troops considered that situation around the bridge became more stabilized and safe. 
Green Open-air Cinema (GOC) promotes local and international young filmmakers and after each film makes an interactive debate among the film authors and the audience. On the other hand GOC is screening movies that are dealing with environment issues and cultural diversity. While its outdoor screening, GOC prefer to change location and to make all public spaces used and attractive.
