Mitrovica is known for very rich natural resources and it has been populated since neolithic times, and most of the artifacts and archeological sites are connected to the use of mineral resources and protection of mines and population.  One of the castles that is not explored enough is the Dardanian castle where by the legend is sad that close to that castle was a tree where soldiers were going to worship it and learn more about their army destiny.
