Stan terg is known as Trepca, too. This location was populated since ancient times. After the second world war, England has invested on the mines of Trepca and has build many buildings that were planned for the use of the miners. Actually this small area during the 40th offered more cultural activities than Mitrovica itself. Stan terg was the first location in Kosovo which offered swimming pool, bowling, cinema, jazz events, tennis field, library, hotel, post etc.
After the war in 1999, lot of houses were burned and most of the things, buildings got destroyed. Today, you might visit the infrastructure which is different from other locations in Kosovo, because it was designed by British engineers. In this small town are living lot of families who are refugees from Mitrovica North, and families who had financial incomes from the mines, but today they have a bad quality life.
